No doubt aware she'd be one of the most photographed stars of the night as the co-host of the award show alongside James Franco, Tiffany & Co. lent Hathaway its 94-carat Lucida Star diamond necklace, worth an eye-watering $10 million, for the Academy Awards in 2011. As a side note, we're still crushing on her red Valentino gown.

L'Wren Scott custom-designed a stunning necklace dripping in diamonds for the Aussie beauty to wear on the red carpet at the 2008 Academy Awards. It reportedly took 6,200 hours to hand craft and had a price tag of $7 million. Yikes.

The American Hustle star teamed her glittering L'Wren Scott gown with some serious frosting by Cartier for the Oscars in 2011, with a total value of $1.3 million. The items she loaned out included a platinum and diamond emerald secret watch bracelet, which featured an enormous 30.75-carat carved emerald, and matching necklace.

Remember the sweet little old lady who played an aged Rose in Titanic? Well, she knew how to rock some serious bling. The late screen siren wore the single most expensive piece of jewellery ever worn to the Oscars in 1998, when she was up for Best Supporting Actress for her role in James Cameron's epic. It's a 15-carat blue diamond necklace by Harry Winston, worth $20 million: her very own "Heart of the Ocean".

When you're wearing a pair of earrings as major as these 115-carat emerald drop earrings by celebrity jeweller Lorraine Schwartz, few other accessories are needed. Worn by Jolie to the 2009 Oscars, they're valued at a cool $2.5 million and she wore them with a matching 65-carat ring.

Charlize Theron

Rocking a pixie cut like no one else can, the blonde beauty presented an award at the 2013 Academy Awards in elegant white Christian Dior Haute Couture and $4.5 million worth of Harry Winston diamonds, including those ah-mazing cuffs.

Gwyneth Paltrow

Would you just look at the frosting on her wrist?! The lifestyle queen's Tom Ford ensemble may have been the talk of the town but it shared attention with her stunning Anna Hu Haute Joaillerie "Hearts of Winter" cuff bracelet, which was made of 2,368 rose-cut diamonds totalling 163 carats and worth a cool $1 million. The "Duchess Hibiscus Ring" she wore is cheap in comparison, valued at $160,000.

Kate Winslet

The new mum wore in excess of $4 million in Tiffany & Co. baubles to the 2010 Academy Awards, including a $2.5 million yellow diamond necklace, $975,000 canary diamond earrings and yellow diamond bracelets, beautifully matched to her silver Yves Saint Laurent dress. Red carpet done right, we say.

Ben Affleck's other half rocked $2.5 million of diamond jewelry from Neil Lane, including a 200-carat diamond necklace in darkened platinum, at the 2013 Oscars. They must have been a lucky charm because her husband's film Argo took out Best Picture.

Carrie Underwood

WOW. Just wow. The country crooner takes out the prize for most expensive music award show bling with the $31 million diamond Jonathon Arndt necklace she wore to the 2013 Grammy awards. The breathtaking piece was made up of a whopping 381-carats of oval, pear, marquis and round brilliant white diamonds. Surely she won't be able to top that this year?
